How the Revolutionary War Affected Merchants

The Revolutionary War had a very negative effect on merchants. As many of you already know, there have been several taxes on various goods. Since the prices went up, that meant that less people could afford those said goods. There have also been numerous boy cots on those goods. As you can imagine, this would negatively affect the sales and the buisness of these merchants no matter if you're in Great Britain or America. So, these merchants, British and American alike, had a mutual feeling of hostility towards the war. This was one of those very few times that they had the same perspective towards the subject of the Revolutionary War.
